Future of News Research: MIT MEdia LaB’s Center for Civic Media

My senior spring (January 2020- June 2020), I conducted research under Ethan Zuckerman in the Center for Civic Media, a lab part of the MIT Media Lab.

The I worked on conducting interviews and thematic analysis to learn more about how empathy is developed in the design process and how this empathy affects the outcome of a design.

The research is summarized in a paper that was accepted to the 2019 ASME IDETC/CIE conference in Design Theory and Methodology and is published in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Digital Collection. It can be viewed here (ISBN: 978-0-7918-5927-8).
